Frozen vegetable gyoza at 25 g a piece, about 24 to a 600 g pack, cooked straight from the freezer as crisp potstickers, steamed dumplings or dumplings in broth.
QING Vegetable Gyoza are Japanese-style dumplings with a vegetable filling, frozen at 25 g each. That works out to about 24 pieces in a 600 g pack, which makes portion costing simple: five or six pieces make a starter, ten a main or a bento side. They go straight from the freezer to the pan, so there is no thawing step on a busy line. For classic potstickers, fry the flat side in a little oil until golden, add a splash of water, cover to steam through, then uncover so the base crisps again. They can also be steamed in a bamboo basket, or simmered in clear broth with bok choy and carrot for a quick dumpling soup. Serve them with a soy, rice vinegar and chilli oil dip. Check the pack label for full ingredients, allergens and vegetarian suitability before menuing.
