Omega Black Raisins: dark dried grapes for snacking, baking, porridge and pulao. Single 1 kg pack.
Black raisins are dark dried grapes; raisins are made in many regions and used raw, in cooking and in baking. These dark, plump raisins are sweet with a slight tang. Snack on them with nuts, stir them into porridge, granola and rice pudding, or bake them into fruit cake, scones, cookies and bread. In savoury dishes they balance spice in biryani, pulao, Moroccan couscous and Afghan kabuli palaw. Plump them for 10 minutes in hot water before baking so they stay juicy and do not draw moisture from the dough. Many families also soak black raisins overnight and eat them in the morning. Store them in an airtight jar in a cool place, as warmth can make them sticky. They also pair well with cinnamon in bread pudding.
