Omega Dried Cranberry: sweet-tart dried cranberries for granola, salads and baking. Single 1 kg pack.
Dried cranberries are cranberries that have been dried, usually after sweetening, as the fresh berries are very tart. Cranberries come from low, creeping evergreen shrubs and vines of the Vaccinium genus. The dried berries are chewy, sweet and tangy with a deep red colour. Add them to granola, trail mix, porridge and yoghurt, toss them into green salads with nuts and cheese, or bake them into muffins, cookies, scones and festive breads. They work well in rice salads, couscous and stuffings for roast turkey or chicken. Chop them roughly for biscuits so they spread evenly. Store dried cranberries in an airtight container in a cool place to keep them soft and stop them sticking together. A handful also makes plain oatmeal cookies festive.
